Shining in his campest, bitchiest role to date is the simply marvellous Russell Bright as Sugar Sugar resident drag star Connie. Trained by Webber Douglas he has appeared on stage at The Royal National Theatre in ‘Noises Off’, The Theatre Royal, Bath in ‘An Englishman Abroad’, and done the Shakespeare bit in ‘Hamlet’, ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ and ‘Othello’ at The Tobacco Factory, Bristol.
Where D’Ya Put Yer Willy? is not his first foray into radio. You probably heard Russell in ‘The Boy Fathers’ on BBC Radio 4.
He also turned out a very butch Bonnie Prince Charlie in ‘Battles That Made Britain’ on the BBC. But how could we ever forget him on TV in the fabulous royal family drama ‘The Palace’. That lovely wedding… someone fetch us a tissue!
